foreword

Hello! Thanks for checking out my work. Below are the films I offer.
Please check out the Creative Films on the Films page (or fb/youtube) and read about the others.
I try to steer away from set “6 or 8 hour packages”, you can just choose what you like.

My minimum booking is $4000.

creative film

The two Creative Films (3-5 min and 6-8 min) are captured over the whole day, edited with music and audio from your vows and speeches.
Couples usually have a preference between the two after watching a few.
Don’t want one? You can get a RAW edit instead, or get both by adding the RAW edit as an Add-on.

a. highlight reel

An exciting and engaging way to relive the day. Comprised of many little moments, glances, butt-grabs, laughs, tears, dancing, and so on. More fast paced than the short film.

Run time: 3-5 minutes.

b. short film

The Short film is your story. This is captured through vows and speeches primarily. These films are more relaxed when watching and re-tell all of the emotion and excitement from the day in greater length and pacing.

Run time: 6-8 minutes.

raw edit

This is a very loose edit, a “play-by-play” if you will – of all the primary camera’s short highlight style (B-Roll) clips with camera-sound.

In my view, the best way to relive the day as an invisible bystander (me).

I think it is invaluable to have footage of our loved ones, put simply – not all footage is suitable for the films videographers make, but that doesn’t mean that footage is without meaning or unimportant. It’s significance is often appreciated in time.

This is the closest thing to getting all of the footage. The RAW edit is all of the short start-stop B-Roll clips that I record with the camera with me at all times. It’s everything from the preps, scenic shots, guests, the photoshoot, family photos, guests mingling, looking boring or excited, dancing, and all the stuff inbetween.

It allows all those 1-2 second moments in the Creative Film to be seen in their full duration and context (ordered sequentially) with camera sound – as they were captured. With minimal editing (colour, audio fixes, clip clean up).

It’s pretty loose, you’ll hear me breathing and laughing at your jokes, saying terrible ones, your photographer’s directions, all those boring or embarrassing shots that didn’t make the other films and all the ones that did.

It’s not every angle of the ceremony, or speeches, (see ceremony and speeches films) but some clips are included for context/key moments or to see people’s reactions.

Any questions just ask!

Run time: 40-150 minutes. There’s a lot of variables – coverage time, length of ceremony/speeches etc.

features / what to expect
  • Footage that IS and IS NOT (outtakes) in your creative film.
  • Natural camera-sound.
  • Minimal editing (clips are top and tailed – typically out of focus/off subject anyway) for easier viewing.
  • Most if not all key moments, first looks, kiss, photoshoot, dancing, etc.
  • Cutaways, decor, location shots, guests, inappropriateness, swearing, jokes, banter, falling over, boring shots, people ruining a shot by picking their nose /not smiling/looking the wrong way etc., bad/excessive/inappropriate dancing, spilling drinks, breaking glasses, splitting pants, the list goes on.
  • Anything that may have good or funny sound but may not make a good shot to have in a film (shaky camera / out of focus etc.).
  • Colour corrected, sound corrected, playback-friendly file format.
what not to expect

It is not interchangeable with dedicated ceremony or reception film* edits – these should be edited with sound and cameras in sync with one another.

It is not all clips on a hard drive with the intention of editing it later. (generally not why you’d hire me anyway).

It is not long clips from each different camera angle. eg. Full ceremony from left side, full ceremony from right side, and so on…

*one could opt for the raw edit over a reception + other formalities edit, to still see the entry/cake cut/dancing etc. in full, but the coverage/edit would not be as good as a detailed reception film, and would not be continuous.

ceremony film

I’ve found there are two main things couples want (before or after the day) around their ceremony.
The ceremony entry (particularly if their partner loses it) and the vows. Or you can get the whole thing edited.

vows + entry (included)

Edit of your vows to one another, from multiple angles.
I’ll also edit the entry in multi-cam and/or simultaneous split screen.
(depends what works best in editing, every live event is different).

Run time: Length of your vows + aisle walk time.

full ceremony edit (upgrade)

Allows for a much more engaging viewing experience, with audience shots, creative angles, both sides for reactions and feels.

I’ll also edit a short split-screen cut of your reactions during the entry.
(If you don’t want a Creative Film this version is included).

Run time: Near actual length (some creative liberties may be taken during signing).

reception film

A simple speeches film is included. If you have other formalities you’d like in full (dance, traditions, etc.) it can be upgraded.

speeches only (included)

A simple speeches only film. Includes your reactions inset in the corner throughout OR edited in (your preference).

Other parts like the entry, dances, cake, may be less important to you (not necessary to have in full), these are of course still captured and may be partly included in the creative film as it is part of the day.
(You can also get the rest of the little bits by grabbing a RAW edit).

Run time: Length of actual speeches (20-40 mins usually).

speeches + other formalities (upgrade)

Speeches plus any other formalities you’d like.
Often the entry, cake cutting, dances, throwing of things (bouquet/garter), any games etc.

The speeches only satisfies most couples, I’d suggest opting for this if you have a choreographed dance and/or any games you’d like in full, from multiple angles.

You might also want to consider getting the RAW edit instead of this upgrade, as you’ll get a bunch of the footage, just not shot in multi-cam. It’s a little extra $ for a LOT more footage (but not as nicely edited).

Run time: Typically 30-50 minutes.

coverage time

Charged by the hour start to finish.

I charge by the hour, with the intention you will have me there as long as necessary and to make it easier to line up with your photographer regardless of their package.

Or start a little earlier, stay a little later as needed.

Will it affect your film? Depends which film…

If I film 3 hours of dancing, your highlights film may still only use 30 seconds of it (30 mins is usually enough). However, if you book a RAW edit – that’s a bunch more footage of people dancing you’ll receive.
